My Matches

How will I know when I have a Match? One way is that you can receive a Push Notification on your phone. Please be sure to have activated this feature on your phone. It's very exciting to get news that someone you are interested in feels likewise. To activate Push Notification you must go to the setting area on your phone, scroll down until you see the Divorce Dating app listed, tap on 'Notification", then tap on "Allow Notifications", "Show in Notification Center", "Sounds" (if you wish), "Badge App Icon" & "Show on Lock Screen" to turn them green (from white). A second way that you are notified – and it is automatic -- is via the Heart at the top of Browse Members functions in the app []. It will contain a number. That number is reflective of how many matches you currently have. By tapping on that Heart you’ll be carried to the My Matches area, where all your matches will be displayed.

Can I communicate with my Matches? Yes. On the Matches page you'll be able to tap right into the chat box, get typing and send a message. Also, if you wish, you may click on the Divorce Dating logo in the upper right corner [], which will reveal Vikki's interesting and fun Conversation Starters  (we call them "Vikki-isms") to send to your match. Check them out!

What if I don't have any Matches? You need to allow time for people to notice you and like you back. You may want to try updating your Profile photo and Fabric photos, as well. That can often be an action the triggers discovery.

What if someone I Matched with has disappeared? This means that they may have blocked you or deleted their account. If you have lost all your matches, try logging out and back in.  As long as you haven't accidentally deleted your account, you should be fine.

Wingmen

What is a Wingman? A Wingman is a person who you want to enlist as a gut check for potential matches. Often our friends and family members know us better than we know ourselves. In which case, it’s likely they can help you figure out whether a potential match is worth pursuing.  What’s interesting is that this person can be one of your married friends or family members, not just your divorced or single pals. To participate they just need to create an account – bare bones is fine (name, email). They have the ability to turn the Discover button off (in the Settings) but still be on the job to help you find love again.

How do I add a Wingman? This is, obviously, a close friend or family member. You instruct them to create a profile -- bare bones (name, email) are fine if he/she is a happily attached person. If they are divorced/single they should be members anyway! In the case where someone is “attached” they may want to be sure to have the 'Discover" setting turned-off. Once you know your prospective Wingman has an account, go to My Wingmen, hit "Add A Wingman", load the person's name into the search bar, tap on the search magnifying glass, when your confidant’s name appears hit the “Plus” and voilà you have a Wingman.

How many Wingmen can I have? At any one time, you can have up to three people performing in this role, on your behalf. You can manage them by adding and deleting as you wish.  You are also not required to have any wingmen – it’s completely optional (but we think valuable).

How do I delete a Wingman? Go to My Wingmen, tap on the three dots and follow the instruction.

How do I get a Wingman's input? When in My Matches click on the three dots on a particular match, hit the button “Requesting Wingman Input” and follow the instruction. The match's profile will be sent to that Wingman for review and comment.

I've received a Wingman Request how do I review and comment for my friend? Click on the profile of the match your friend has sent. Review it and consider that person and your friend on a date, then fill in your thoughts in the message area and press “Send.” It's as simple as that to lend a friend a hand.

Can a Wingman refuse the role? Yes. When a friend designates you and you receive a request you have to option to politely decline.

App Operation Difficulties

What if I can't upload photos, or they are not showing up? Make sure you have the latest version of Divorce Dating and try quitting the app and re-logging in.

What if the app keeps crashing? Make sure you have the latest version of Divorce Dating and try quitting the app. If the issue persists, just delete the app from your phone, download it again and reinstall it. As long as you don't delete your account, you won’t lose your existing matches, messages, or any other information.
